Geely-owned Meizu tipped to launch its first foldable this year
After a rough patch Meizu was acquired by Chinese auto giant Geely and it's now trying to regain its former glory. It's moving quite rapidly too and now we hear it's gearing up to release its first foldable phone this year. That's quite a turnaround for a company that less than year ago was on the verge of ceasing operations.
According to reliable Chinese tipster Digial Chat Station, Meizu will release its foldable by the end of this year. However, there's no information regarding the form factor - it could be a clamshell or it could fold horizontally ala Samsung Galaxy Fold.
Geely's resources are clearly letting Meizu flourish and there's a good reason to suspect deeper integration with the company's EVs, such as digital car key unlocking will justify the investment.
