Huawei-backed Aito M5 SUV gets a refresh
The Aito M5 only debuted in July 2023 and the model is now being updated across the range. Perhaps one of the biggest additions to all configurations is Huawei's advanced assisted driving system - it now comes as a standard feature.
As before, the vehicle is available in three variants - one BEV and two EREVs. Prices remain unchanged, with Aito charging RMB 249,800 ($34,500) or RMB 279,800 ($38,600) for the two EREV variants and RMB 269,800 ($37,200). But the hardware is new.
The fully-electric iteration and the entry-level EREV employ a rear-mounted motor with 200 kW maximum output, while the pricier extended-range option gets a front-mounted motor as well. This one outputs 165 kW.
The new BEV gets a lithium iron phosphate battery rated at 83 kWh, which is good for 374 miles as per CLTC. The two EREVs, on the other hand, rely on a 42 kWh battery capable of spinning the wheels for 158 miles or 143 miles, depending on the version. The full gas tank adds up to 895 miles or 792 miles, again according to CLTC.
The new Aito M5 will be on sale starting May 15.
