Vanwall Vandervell S Plus comes with more power and more colors

Vanwall, a name with a rich racing history, has been making waves with its electric hatchback, the Vandervell S. Originally touted as a 580 horsepower powerhouse, the latest news from Vanwall is sure to get EV enthusiasts excited. The Vandervell S Plus is set to exceed expectations, packing up to 641 horsepower when it hits the road in Q1 2024. The company also revealed the hatchback is coming in six stunning colors, paying homage to its racing legacy.

Vanwall Racing Green, the first color option, is a nod to the brand's illustrious past in motorsport. Beyond this iconic hue, buyers can choose from blue, red, black, white, and dark gray. To top it off, Vanwall is offering both matte and glossy paint finishes, giving owners the chance to personalize their ride to their heart's content.

The Vandervell S is crafted with a carbon fiber body, so it manages to keep its weight in check at 3,968 lb, despite carrying an 84 kWh battery pack. The result is an impressive power-to-weight ratio that guarantees exhilarating performance on the road.

The standard Vandervell S comes equipped with all-wheel drive and a respectable 320 horsepower (239 kW/325 PS) output. However, the big news is the Vandervell S Plus, which now promises the remarkable 641 horsepower (478 kW/650 PS), surpassing its initial estimate of 580 horsepower. It's clear that Vanwall is on a mission to make a statement in the EV world.

The resurgence of the Vanwall brand, thanks to Dr. Colin Kolles, known for his leadership roles in Formula One teams like Force India, Caterham, and Jordan Grand Prix, means that there's more to this car than meets the eye. Drawing from the knowledge gained in the World Endurance Championship racing team and the Vandervell 1000 Hypercar project, Vanwall has incorporated advanced aerodynamic technology into the Vandervell S. Topped off with impressive launch control and regenerative braking capabilities - we are promised one thrilling driving experience.

With production limited to just 500 units and a focus on using exotic materials, the Vandervell S is not for the faint of heart. Its starting price of $137,400 reflects the exclusivity and craftsmanship that go into each vehicle. Vanwall has also chosen a direct sales approach and promises its electrifying hatchback will be hitting the streets in early 2024.
