XPeng L03 debuts in Europe starting at €35,000, EREV variant also available
XPeng revealed its budget crossover Mona L03 in China about a month ago, and it's betting on this model to secure market positions in Europe as well. The Chinese automaker dropped the "Mona" from the name and announced the XPeng L03 for the collective European market today.
We already know the hardware and features that make the L03 move, but let's go through the drivetrains that will make it to Europe.
The vehicle will be offered in two variants - fully electric and EREV. The latter drivetrain is quite rare for the European market, so it will be interesting to see how it performs. The EV version promises up to 323 miles of range according to WLTP and supports DC fast charging that can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes. The maximum output for the AWD variant is 382 hp.
The EREV version, on the other hand, makes use of a 37.2-kWh battery, which alone can get you up to 130 miles, while the combined range with the help of a 1.5L gasoline engine goes above 620 miles.
One of the vehicle's standout features is the spacious cabin and cargo space. It offers a 539-liter cargo space at the back and a 102-liter frunk if you get the RWD EV variant.
What's more, the XPeng L03 is the first vehicle coming from Asia Pacific that offers deep Google Maps integration. That means you don't have to mirror your phone or download Google Maps at all. The built-in navigation and infotainment systems draw real-time, traffic-aware data from Google Maps and use it to estimate even the EV range. All is done through XPeng's own navigation software.
Speaking of software, the vehicle ships with XPeng's XOS 6 platform along with VLA 2.0 intelligent driving system. The Ultra trim even has three XPeng Turing AI chips to support ADAS and other AI-related features.
The cabin is equipped with a 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, 8.8-inch instrument panel, wide heads-up display, voice assistant, custom parking, heated and ventilated seats, AI climate control and 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats.
In most countries across Europe, the XPeng L03 will start at just under €35,000 for the EV variant, while the EREV starts at €38,490. There are small price differences from country to country, of course.
