Hyundai Ioniq 6 spotted on the street with normal mirrors

Vlad, 01 October 2022

If you've spent the past few months, since it went official, wondering whether the Hyundai Ioniq 6 would also have a version with regular mirrors, just like the Ioniq 5, then this will represent some good news for you. As it turns out, there will be an Ioniq 6 that chooses not to employ cameras for mirrors.

Well, at least one of these exists, and it was caught in the picture you can see below, somewhere out there in the wild. All of Hyundai's official marketing materials show camera-mirrors, but it looks like some markets (we assume not all) could also get the option to go with regular mirrors.

Anyway, mirrors aside, can we just say that the Ioniq 6 looks very sleek indeed, even parked on a random curb somewhere. Production is set to start in October, and leaked pricing information suggests the Ioniq 6 shouldn't be much more expensive than the Ioniq 5.

The image above comes from a Reddit post that's since been deleted - and we do wonder why. After all, the car was just sitting pretty on a street, not even camouflaged, so there's no reason for the poster to fear Hyundai's lawyers. Right? Well, we don't know what happened but do keep in mind that clicking the Source linked below won't get you anywhere unfortunately.

Well, Tesla released their version of Yoke in the United States ... so I guess anything is possible over there :-D Tesla Yoke seems to be quite more a hindrance to the driver compared to digital side mirrors.

Cameras for side mirrors is not legal in the United States, so all of the Ioniq 6s will have regular mirrors. Tesla tried the same thing.
