Abarth, the performance division of Fiat, just introduced its take on the 600e EV. It is the most powerful Abarth ever, offering up to 280 hp electric motor and a 0 to 62 mph time of just 5.85 seconds.

The Abarth 600e is the result of a collaboration between Abarth and Stellantis Motorsport engineers, sitting on the Perfo eCMP platform.

This electric pocket rocket comes in two flavors: the sporty Turismo and the limited-edition Scorpionissima. The later has the headlining 280 hp output, compared to the Turismo's 240 hp. The Scorpionissima also gets exclusive features like glossy black accents, special stickers, and colored brake calipers. To mark Abarth's founding year, only 1,949 Scorpionissima cars will be produced.

According to the company, the 600e has been rigorously tested on racetracks to ensure it delivers the driving experience Abarth enthusiasts expect. The high-performance e-motor, honed on a Formula E test bench and combined with a JTEKT Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential, sporty brakes, and racing-derived tires, all ensure this 600e handles like a true Abarth.

An essential part of the performance package is the battery cooling system designed to maximize performance during spirited driving. Drivers can choose from three driving modes: Turismo, Scorpion Street, and Scorpion Track. Turismo mode prioritizes efficiency, while Scorpion Track unleashes the full power of the electric motor, allowing the Scorpionissima to hit a top speed of 124 mph.

The design is a blend of classic Abarth cues and modern touches. The front end features a large air intake reminiscent of the Abarth 850 TC. The rear is dominated by a large spoiler and diffuser, which claim to improve aerodynamic performance. The 600e rides on 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The interior has leather and Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and aluminum pedals, with the Scorpionissima getting Sabelt racing seats. Both versions feature a 10.25-inch infotainment system that can display real-time data like torque and G-forces.

Both the Turismo and Scorpionissima versions come standard with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking. The Scorpionissima adds even more tech, like a 360-degree parking camera system, traffic sign recognition, and Level 2 assisted driving capabilities.
