Here's when Tesla is reportedly starting production of the Model Y Juniper
Over the past 12 months Tesla has started selling the refreshed Model 3, codenamed Highland, and the company is due to do the same with the Model Y, its best selling car. The Model Y refresh, codenamed Juniper, is now rumored to go into production at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory in January, according to a Chinese media outlet.
Juniper will allegedly come with tweaks to the interior, exterior, battery capacity, motor performance, as well as the self-driving package, intriguingly. Giga Shanghai will also begin deliveries of a six-seat Model Y between October and December of next year, the same report claims.
Current Tesla Model YGiga Shanghai is Tesla's largest factory in the world, with the capacity to produce 1 million vehicles per year. It makes the Model 3 and Model Y. It began operations in 2019.
