Hyundai gives its customers free NACS adapters to use with Tesla's Superchargers
The NACS revolution is upon us, Tesla essentially made its charging port into a de facto standard in North America, and all other EV makers have announced its adoption over the past few months. Their new cars will come with NACS connectors starting next year, but until then there's the issue of existing EVs that don't have it - and these need adapters in order to use Tesla's Superchargers.
Hyundai has now announced that it will be giving away such adapters for free to its customers starting in the first quarter of next year, so before the end of March. With such an adapter, Hyundai EV owners will instantly gain access to the 20,000+ Tesla Superchargers peppered throughout the US.
When you add in the CCS DC fast chargers, Hyundai EV owners will be able to choose from 38,000 fast chargers in the US. To get a free NACS adapter, all you need is to have purchased or leased your Hyundai EV on or before January 31, 2025. If so, then you will be able to request a free NACS adapter through the MyHyundai owner portal.
Free adapters will be handed out to owners of the model-year 2024 and earlier Kona Electric, Ioniq hatchback, Ioniq 5, and Ioniq 6, as well as the 2025 Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 N, and Kona Electric.

USB dongles are iffy. High current, high voltage adapters are risky.
