Nissan is unveiling its fourth EV concept ahead of the Japan Mobility Show. The Hyper Punk concept is designed for the present-day content creators, influencers, and the artsy bunch, Nissan wants this new model to be a testament of its dedication to expressive design.

Previously Nissan unveiled the Hyper Urban, Hyper Adventure and Hyper Tourer concepts. These virtual rides will race into the world of Fortnite, much like the BMW iX2 did not long ago.

Back to the final 4th addition to Nissan’s concept EVs roaster. The Nissan Hyper Punk boasts, uhm let’s say unique (according to Nissan sleek and stylish) body that should appeal to influencers and those who dare to stand out in the crowd.

The Hyper Punk concept offers a bridge between the tangible and the virtual. Its V2X system ensures that you remain connected at all times, charging your devices, and even sharing the car's energy with the local community. A feature shared among all Nissan concepts and that will likely be part of the company's actual vehicles going forward.

Step inside, and the origami-inspired elements give a nod to Japanese aesthetics, blending digital artistry seamlessly. The car's onboard cameras using AI, can transform real-time sceneries into manga-inspired visuals or other graphic patterns as per the owner's whims. These visuals then play out on a tri-screen setup encircling the driver, blurring the lines between reality and the digital metaverse.

It doesn’t stop there. Designed as a wandering creative hub, this vehicle ensures users stay connected and productive. Its AI capabilities and headrest biosensors tune into the driver's emotions, adjusting music and lighting to elevate their creative spirit.

Externally, the Hyper Punk's multifaceted, polygonal design is combined with shade-shifting silver paint. The aerodynamic design is said to ensure efficiency, while boldly challenging conventional minimalist aesthetics. With 23-inch wheels and compact overhangs, this concept promises agility for city drives while still being rugged enough for off-road adventures. And those polygon-inspired headlights and tail lamps? A design spectacle that reinforces the vehicle's unique identity.

It’s evident that Nissan desperately wants the Hyper Punk to be not just any vehicle. And it isn’t - it stands out like a sore thumb even among concept cars. It does blend in though with the previous concepts from Nissan - all as far out as they get. The idea of concept cars was always about exploring the possibilities, stretching the imagination, and talking about what can be. But Nissan seems to have taken it down the weird path, clearly inspired by Tesla’s courage in going ahead with the Cybertruck, Nissan thought “Hey, we can do one even weirder.” Well done Nissan, you nailed it.
