Nissan NX8 mid-size SUV is official with pure EV and EREV options
Dongfeng Nissan, the Chinese joint venture of Nissan, has now fully unveiled the NX8, a mid-size SUV developed specifically for the Chinese market. It's priced from CNY 159,900 to CNY 209,900 (approximately $23,300 to $30,700 at the current exchange rates). The NX8 is available as a battery electric vehicle as well as a range-extended electric vehicle.
The EV version uses a 73kWh or an 81kWh LFP battery, the former rated for 360 miles of CLTC range, the latter going up to 404 miles. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes 17 minutes on the smaller battery and 12 minutes on the larger one.
There are two RWD powertrains available, one developing 292 hp, the other 340 hp. The former does 0 to 62 mph in 7.1 seconds, the latter in 6.7 seconds.
The EREV option comes with 265 hp of total power and accelerates in 7.2 seconds. You can get it with a 20.3 kWh battery, a 21.1 kWh battery, or a 43.2 kWh battery. The first two are rated for 93 miles pure electric range by CLTC, the last one goes up to 193 miles. Total range is 820 miles and 901 miles, respectively.
The NX8 has a 27.3 ft³ trunk, a 3.35 ft³ frunk, a bi-directional onboard refrigerator, AI Zero Gravity Seats, an AI contactless airflow system, motion sickness prevention technology, and even power-reclining rear seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions.
There are dual 15.6-inch displays in the middle, and a 10.25-inch instrument panel, running the latest Nissan OS 2.0 with an integrated voice assistant.
The infotainment system is powered by the Snapdragon 8295P chipset by Qualcomm and comes with 256GB of storage. You also get an AR HUD equivalent to approximately 63".
The NX8 is 191.7 inches long, 75.6 inches wide, 66.1 inches tall, and has a wheelbase of 114.8 inches.
