Tesla's Semi production begins, to finally hit the streets this December

Ro, 06 October 2022

Tesla's long-awaited Semi truck faced multiple delays. Initially, the plan was to start mass production in 2019, but multiple external and internal factors pushed that date back. One of the reasons outlined by the company's CEO, Elon Musk, was the supply chain constraint caused by the pandemic.

Anyway, now we finally get a date for the start of deliveries and that's December 1. Supposedly, this is when the first order of trucks will be delivered to the company's first customer - Pepsi Co. The firm ordered 100 trucks back in 2017 and it's finally about to get some of them. Other notable big clients include UPS and Walmart.

Back in May this year, Tesla opened reservations for its Semi, asking $150,000 for the standard model and $180,000 for the long-range option with up to 804 km of autonomy.
