Leapmotor International, the joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor which was established earlier this year, has started shipping the first batch of vehicles from Shanghai, China to European ports this month.

The models in question are the T03 and the C10, the former a small city EV, the latter an SUV. More shipments are promised to come in the following months, and the T03 is also being assembled at one of Stellantis' European plants, in Poland.

This first shipment marks a milestone for the joint venture, with Stellantis wanting to use Leapmotor International to source cheaper EVs than its own brands can offer right now.

Sales of the Leapmotor T03 and C10 will start in nine European countries in September. The plan is to establish 200 sales points in Europe by the end of the year, and 500 by 2026. Before the end of 2024, Leapmotor International will also expand to the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and South America.

Following the launch in international markets of the T03 and C10, Leapmotor International promises to add at least one new model every year in the next three years.

The C10 comes with a "best-in-segment premium ride and handling experience", and features 261 miles of WLTP range. It's also expected to meet the 5-star Euro NCAP rating standard. The T03 is "not only stylish but a pleasure to drive" and will have 165 miles of WLTP range.
